What Happens During Treatment
- Consultation & imaging – X-rays or a scan to assess jawbone density and plan implant placement
- Implant placement – the titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anaesthesia
- Healing period – a few months for the implant to fuse with the bone (a process called osseointegration)
- Abutment placement – a small connector piece is attached once healing is complete
- Crown fitting – a custom-made crown is placed on top, matched to the color and shape of your natural teeth
Why Choose a Dental Implant
- Looks and feels natural – matched to your surrounding teeth
- Preserves jawbone – unlike bridges or dentures, implants stimulate the bone and prevent it from shrinking over time
- Doesn’t affect neighbouring teeth – no need to grind down adjacent teeth, unlike a bridge
- Built to last – with good care, implants can last decades or a lifetime
Who This Is For
- Anyone missing one or more teeth due to decay, injury, or extraction
- Patients looking for a long-term alternative to dentures or bridges
- Adults with adequate jawbone density (this will be assessed during your consultation bone grafting is an option if needed)
